Charged atmosphere awaits CU basketball in rematch at No. 11 Arizona

There are hostile arenas. And then there is the den of rancor certain to greet the Colorado men's basketball team Thursday night at Arizona.

The McKale Center in Tucson always is the toughest place to play in the Pac-12 Conference, with the Wildcats taking a run of 80 wins in their past 82 home games into Thursday's battle. Add to the equation a No. 11-ranked Arizona squad that certainly will be eager for payback for a loss in Boulder three weeks ago, in addition to the firestorm CU coach Tad Boyle unwittingly created with his postgame comments that day expressing extra satisfaction at defeating one of the two Pac-12 programs embroiled in the ongoing FBI recruiting scandal, and chances are there will be a few choice words hurled the Buffs' way as they attempt to pick up their first win at the venue since joining the league.
