Throughout the recruiting process, Cameron Swartz's mother kept asking her if she really wanted to attend college and play basketball in Boulder.
After all, Swartz grew up in Marietta, Ga., and there were plenty of college options close to home.
"We went on the visit (to Colorado) and I just fell in love," Swartz said. "After that, if anybody even stepped close, I was like, 'You don't really have a chance.' There's only one other school that was even close and still was not close at all."
Nearly 18 months after making her decision to commit to CU, Swartz is finally at home in Boulder, ready to begin her freshman season with the Buffaloes' women's basketball team.
