GOLDEN – Just a day after the CU women posted the first and third best marks in the nation in the pentathlon, the University of Colorado track and field program's male heptathlon student-athletes Davis Butte and Josh Farmer posted the first and fourth-best marks in the nation Friday in Golden at the Mines Alumni Classic & Multi.
After finishing the first day of competition in ninth place, Butte exploded in the second day of competition to take over the national-leading mark at 5,011. The first event of day two was the 60 hurdles in which he ran 8.
