Overlooked coming out of high school a year ago, Kary Kutsch went the junior college route, hoping it would open more opportunities.
Colorado gave the versatile lineman the opportunity he wanted.
A 6-foot-5, 290-pound offensive tackle from Butte College in Oroville, Calif., Kutsch verbally committed to CU on Thursday. He will sign a grant-in-aid on Friday, he said, and is expected to be in Boulder in early June.
"I wanted to go to the highest level," he said. "I always felt like I had something more. I wanted to get the coaching to see how good I could be.
