BOULDER — Fresh off an upset of then-No. 14 Virginia Tech, the University of Colorado lacrosse team is moving up in the rankings and is currently 14th in the latest edition of the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Poll.
The Buffs were 17th in the IWLCA preseason poll and moved up three positions after starting the season 1-1. CU lost its season opener to then-No. 6 Florida (16-9) in Boulder, but bounced back with a convincing 17-6 victory against the Hokies in Blacksburg, Va.
Senior Samantha Nemirov led the Buffs with five goals and added an assist, while another senior, Miranda Stinson, had four goals, one assist and three caused turnovers.
