TEMPE, Ariz. – As the clock hit 0.00 in Colorado's 81-76 win over Southern California last Sunday there was a sense of relief that spread across the Buffaloes women's basketball program.
Colorado's first Pac-12 win of the season snapped an 11-game slide for the Buffs, but it also marked a turning point for head coach JR Payne's young club. CU, coming off a tough loss to one of the top teams in the nation at Oregon, was just a few possessions away from a 2-0 weekend.
"I thought we had a great weekend of basketball," Payne explained.
