Colorado receiver Laviska Shenault recently had surgery on the turf toe injury that kept him out of three games late in the season, so he will not participate in spring practices for the Buffaloes.
A true sophomore, Shenault led the Buffs with 86 catches for 1,011 yards and six touchdowns, while also rushing for 115 yards and five touchdowns. He led the country with 9.6 catches per game.
With his exceptional season, Shenault was named the team's most valuable player at the annual senior banquet Sunday at the Dal Ward Center.
Shenault is just the fifth sophomore to earn team MVP honors, joining Joe Romig in 1959, Eric Bieniemy in 1988, Darian Hagan in 1989 and Jashon Sykes in 1999.
