BOULDER — Tad Boyle's Colorado Buffaloes did what they are expected to do Saturday against a Div. II opponent.
The Buffs produced balanced scoring, played a solid half of defense and then held off a scrappy Fort Hays team in the second half to collect an 81-71 win over the visiting Tigers at the Coors Events Center. Colorado improved to 8-3 with the win.
Buffs seniors Xavier Johnson and Josh Fortune and freshman Deleon Brown all scored 15 for Colorado while Wesley Gordon led CU with seven rebounds.
