DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Colorado overcame a 10-point second-half deficit Tuesday to force overtime but the No. 18 Buffaloes came up short in the extra period, falling 77-71 to Florida State in the Sunshine Slam championship game.
Tad Boyle's Buffs fell to 4-1 overall while the Seminoles improved to 4-1.
Cold shooting doomed the Buffs, as CU shot just 35 percent from the floor (25-for-72), including 5-for-20 from 3-point range.
Cody Williams led CU in scoring with 17 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Colorado led 30-27 at the half but a cold start and some hot Seminole shooting from long range resulted in FSU taking a 10-point lead.
