TEMPE, Ariz. — Colorado's Derrick White scored 35 points, including a go-ahead bucket with 19.6 seconds left in the game, but Arizona State's Tra Holder hit two free throws with 1.6 seconds remaining to hand the Buffs a 78-77 loss Thursday night.
The Buffs, who lost forward Xavier Johnson to a double-ejection after an incident with ASU's Jethro Tshisumpa in the first half, had battled back from a pair of nine-point deficits early in the second half. A 10-0 run gave Colorado a 56-55 lead with 10:47 left in the game, and there were a dozen lead changes down the stretch.
