Buffs Drop 16-11 Decision In Conference Championship To USC

LOS ANGELES – No. 9/8 Colorado (16-3) mounted a furious second-half comeback, but fell 16-11 at No. 7/6 Southern California (16-3) a in the championship game of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation tournament on Sunday afternoon here at USC.

USC scored five consecutive goals to mount a 13-5 lead with 20:59 remaining in the game. CU then scored the next four goals to get within 13-9 with 8:25 left, but USC responded with two more scores to pull back up by six.

Johnna Fusco, who had a game-high 10 shot attempts, led CU with four goals and Miranda Stinson added three.
