Buffs Draw With Cal, Take Seventh On Tiebreak At March Mayhem Match Play

RANCHO SANTE FE, Calif. – Colorado and California played to a 2 ½-2 ½ draw in the seventh place match to close out the San Diego State March Mayhem at the Farms Golf Course on Wednesday.

The Buffaloes gained the seventh-place nod by winning the tiebreaker over California with a 6-3 margin of victory in the individual matches.

USC, which won Monday's stroke play round by 15 strokes over Texas, also won the overall match play championship by shutting out the Longhorns 5-0 in the finals.

Colorado was in position to win the match out right, but settled for the draw after California's Marthe Wold won her final two holes against Buffaloes sophomore Kirsty Hodgkins to take their match 1 up.
