SAN DIEGO — The University of Colorado women's tennis team advanced both doubles teams and Aya El Sayed through to the next round here Thursday on the opening day of the San Diego Intercollegiate Championships.
El Sayed, fresh off a consolation tournament victory at the Battle In The Bay Classic, advanced out of the round of 32 with a two set victory over Katya Townsend of Utah. The junior took both sets by a score of 6-2. She is set to play the fifth-seeded Sofia Rojas of Oklahoma State tomorrow in the round of 16.
