Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Steven Montez was named to the Walter Camp Award preseason watch list, per an announcement by the Walter Camp Foundation on Friday.
Fifty players made the watch list for award the best overall player in college football to start the 2018 season. There are 38 offensive and 12 defensive players on the list — five of them are from the Pac-12 with Washington QB Jake Browning, Husky RB Myles Gaskin, Stanford RB Bryce Love, Arizona QB Khalil Tate, and Montez.
This is the second appearance for Montez on a preseason watch list, the other being the Maxwell Award that recognizes the nation’s best quarterback.
