PALM DESERT, Calif. — The University of Colorado men's golf finished in fifth place here Saturday, winning the consolation bracket in the process, in the inaugural Wyoming Desert Match Play, the spring season opener for the Buffaloes.
The Buffaloes defeated the University of Denver in the fifth place match, 3-1-2, using a strong finish to outdistance the Pioneers. CU won two of three matches here, but a quarterfinal loss to UTEP relegated the Buffaloes to consolation rounds.
