NAPA, Calif. — The University of Colorado men's golf team finished fourth here Monday in the stroke play portion of UCLA's Gifford Collegiate, and will begin match play Tuesday against Northwestern.
No. 14-ranked Southern California rolled to the team win in the 36-hole event, posting a 38-under score of 682, easily outdistancing No. 6 Stanford (21-under 699). Host UCLA rallied late to snatch third place with a 14-under 706, with the Buffaloes finishing in the upper bracket in fourth at 112-under 708.
The format now shifts into a match play format, and by virtue of the stroke play standings, Colorado drew Northwestern in the first round.
