Former Colorado Buffaloes running back Rashaan Salaam has died at the age of 42 according to a family spokesperson. He was found dead in a park in Boulder, CO on Monday night as first reported by the University of Colorado and the Denver Post.
Salaam rushed for 3,057 yards and 38 touchdowns during his time at Colorado (1992-94) He racked up 2,055 yards and 24 touchdowns during his 1994 Heisman campaign.
He was drafted in the first round of the 1995 NFL Draft, 21st overall by the Chicago Bears.
No cause of death has been given.
