SHANGHAI — Colorado built a big lead early, then fought off an Arizona State comeback in the second half Saturday (Friday night in Colorado) and the Buffaloes collected an 81-71 win in the season opener for both teams in the Pac-12 China Game.
Tad Boyle's Buffs led by 13 at halftime and built the margin to 17 early in the second half before ASU put together a 30-13 run to tie the game at 59-59 midway through the half.
The Buffs, though, regrouped and regained the lead as CU veterans McKinley Wright IV and Tyler Bey took over down the stretch.
