BOULDER—Colorado sophomore Jenny Beyer was selected as one of 23 players to represent Germany at the U20 World Cup in Costa Rica.
Germany played a friendly against the Netherlands on Friday in preparation for the tournament set to begin on Aug. 10. Germany will open against Colombia. The squad will also play New Zealand (Aug. 13) and Mexico (Aug. 17) to round out group play.
"I'm really thankful that I got this opportunity," Beyer mentioned. "I'm feeling really honored to represent Germany. I'm going to have to work hard, but it's an amazing feeling that I was able to go from the U15, U16, U17 and now U20 national team.
