Boulder — Nelson Spruce set or tied 31 Colorado receiving records last season and he’s already broken another one this season, passing Scotty McKnight with 219 career receptions.
The senior from Westlake Village, Calif., will soon add a couple more. He needs 122 yards to pass Michael Westbrook (1991-94) for career receiving yards (2,548), and he needs three touchdown catches to break McKnight’s record (22).
Coach Mike MacIntyre predicts Spruce will be play professionally.
“It was great seeing him get the record, and now he’ll get the yardage record probably through the next couple of weeks,” MacIntyre said.
