Boulder is 1,300 miles from Tuscaloosa and 1,800 miles from Colonia, N.J. But for Antonio Alfano, CU felt just like home.
“I’m not afraid of a rebuild,” Alfano, the CU Buffs’ defensive end transfer from Alabama and the program’s first 5-star import since Darrell Scott in 2008, told The Denver Post in a phone interview.
“(Coach Mel Tucker was) like, ‘Look, we’re building right now, and we need guys like you to come and help recruit.’ He keeps it honest.”
The 6-foot-4, 285-pound Alfano, the No. 1 defensive end recruit in the country for the Class of 2019, according to 247Sports.
