It is a large and widely-decorated class of legends ready to take their place among the all-time greats at the University of Colorado.

On Monday, CU announced its athletics Hall of Fame class of 2016, a 12-person group whose achievements date back through about 70 years of the university's athletics history.

The 12-player class, who represent eight different sports, is the second-largest induction class since the Hall of Fame began in 1998.

Highlighting the group is former wide receiver Michael Westbrook, who was on the receiving end of one of college football's most memorable plays with his 64-yard touchdown reception from Kordell Stewart famously known as the "Miracle in Michigan.
