In his 10th NHL game this season, it felt like Christmas for A.J. Greer on Thursday in Winnipeg.
The third-year professional who is still considered an NHL rookie gave a great effort and received plenty of accolades after the Avalanche defeated the Jets, 4-1, to snap an eight-game losing streak. Greer, 22, only logged 6:54 of ice time but his breakaway bid led to Dominic Toninato‘s first career NHL goal and he finished plus-1 with three shots, two hits and two blocked shots. Each of his three shots were considered grade-A scoring chances.
Greer, 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds, is a winger on Colorado’s fourth line.
