Jayson Megna’s pursuit of an NHL dream meant living mostly out of a suitcase over the past eight years during stops with the Penguins, Rangers, Canucks, Capitals and, this season, with the Avalanche.
“You spend a lot of nights in hotels and there is a lot of uncertainty,” Megna said. “I credit my family and my wife for helping me take care of things on my end, and they kind of handle the rest of it as far as moving and packing. It’s a team effort for sure. A good support system is key.”
Megna, a 29-year-old forward and Florida native, never lost hope he would find a long-term hockey home.
