It’s not often that two players drop the gloves and fight three seconds into an NHL game. But that’s exactly what happened Thursday night in St. Louis as Colorado Avalanche captain Gabe Landeskog and Blues center Brayden Schenn dropped their gloves moments after the opening face-off.
But it wasn’t spontaneous. The Denver Post’s Mike Chambers reported the two arranged the fight before the game:
“He wanted it. He asked me, and you know what, I haven’t had one this year, so why not?” Landeskog said of the decision to fight Schenn, whom he considers a friend.
