Cale Makar wasted little time Monday night proving if he was ready for his Avalanche and NHL debut against Calgary in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The kid can play.
Just 16 minutes into the first period, with Colorado leading 2-0 inside the Pepsi Center, forward Nathan MacKinnon dropped the puck off to a streaking Makar who received it in the high slot of the offensive zone while draped by Flames forward Mikael Backlund. Makar fought off the last-minute defense and snuck the puck past the left pad of Calgary goaltender Mike Smith.
