WATCH: Avs’ Nathan MacKinnon surprises Kenyan hockey team’s first game in Canada

There’s one ice hockey team in Kenya. The Canadian coffee and donuts chain Tim Hortons found out about it, flew 12 of its members to Canada and got Avalanche star Nathan MacKinnon to play alongside the squad.

Tim Hortons on Monday released a video documenting the Kenya Ice Lions’ trip to Canada where they were given personalized jerseys and equipment and got to team up with MacKinnon and Penguins star Sidney Crosby in their first-ever game against another team.

“While we played alongside the Ice Lions for their first game, we know it won’t be their last,” MacKinnon said in a news release.
