CENTENNIAL — Exhausted, he fell and couldn’t get up.
Forward Martin Kaut, the Avs’ 2018 first-round draft pick (16th overall), was in a debilitated state after doing his timed skating test Friday to conclude Day 1 of training camp at Family Sports Center.
After completing three reps of skating the length of the ice 4 1/2 times, Kaut, 19, fell to his stomach against the sideboards, rolled around for several minutes and didn’t return to his feet until an assistant coach told him to “get up.”
He later apologized on Twitter, after seeing a video of his exhausting behavior.
