Thursday morning, the NHL and NHLPA announced that they have set July 10th as the target to begin Phase 3 of their Return To Play (RTP) plan. Phase 3 is the “formal training camp” step in the league’s plan to complete the 2019-20 season. This comes after the NHL entered Phase 2 - small groups of players in team facilities - earlier this week.
The NHL and NHLPA have still not agreed on the length of training camp, so there is no formal date set for games to begin but speculation is that it will be in early August.
