The Avalanche defeated St. Louis 5-2 in the regular-season finale for both teams Saturday to leapfrog the Blues for the last Western Conference wild-card playoff spot. The Avs will make their 14th Stanley Cup playoff appearance, and the upcoming seven-game series against the Nashville Predators will be the first-ever playoff meeting between the teams.
