AIR FORCE ACADEMY — Avs general manager Joe Sakic has long appreciated the Air Force Academy. His Avs are now partnering with Air Force and the Los Angeles Kings for the Stadium Series game here Feb. 15.
“You drive down to Colorado Springs and you go right by the stadium; you see the Air Force Academy, and you know how special it is,” Sakic said at a news conference Thursday. “To play in Falcon Stadium, it’s going to be a thrill for all the players and fans. You’ve got the setting — the stadium, the mountains in the background, the elevation — it’s a really cool setting.
