Colorado Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar came into training camp admitting that he knew very little about the team he was coming in to work with. He made it clear that all players involved in camp would be getting a fair chance to prove themselves and make the team.
The Avalanche, of course, have two players on professional tryouts hoping to make the opening day roster in Gabriel and Rene Bourque (no relation). Bednar has been impressed with both saying, “Those guys are hungry right now, they are playing hard and they are getting stuff done.”
Gabriel Bourque was wearing an “A” on his sweater Friday night against the Los Angeles Kings, proving that he has earned the coaches respect and perhaps a permanent spot on the Avs.
