After missing the final two games of the Avalanche’s four-game road trip because of a groin muscle injury, Rene Bourque was back going full speed in practice this week and has been skating on the Carl Soderberg-centered third line, also with winger Blake Comeau.
“It was tough,” Bourque said of the injury after practice Thursday. “I felt like I got off to a good start, playing well. But you have to be careful. It’s nice that we had a big break between games, almost a full week. That probably saved me from missing a few more games.”
The line tinkering was part of coach Jared Bednar’s rearrangements during the break after Colorado’s 5-2 loss at Florida on Saturday — a break that will end Friday night, when the Avalanche faces Winnipeg at the Pepsi Center.
