DETROIT — The Detroit Red Wings are making plans for the team's final season at Joe Louis Arena.
The team and Olympia Entertainment on Thursday announced some "Farewell Season at The Joe" events planned during the 2016-17 season. Plans call for highlighting notable Red Wings games and concerts that have been held at the arena.
A commemorative logo will be worn on Red Wings uniforms. There will be celebrations honoring Stanley Cup championships, special entertainment performances, a design for Red Wings tickets that highlights the final season and giveaways for fans.
The team says there also will be a special private event to mark the final season.
