It was a historic day for the Colorado Avalanche.
Cale Makar scored twice and became the sixth-fastest defenseman in NHL history to reach the 100-goal plateau as the Colorado Avalanche defeated the Dallas Stars 6-3 at Ball Arena. Only Hall of Famers George Boucher, Ray Bourque, Paul Coffey, Bobby Orr, and Denis Potvin reached the 100-goal mark faster than Makar, who has scored 15 goals this season.
Overall, it was a banner day for Colorado. Artturi Lehkonen notched four points, and Casey Mittelstadt fired back at the critics with a three-point performance, while Jonathan Drouin, like Makar, scored the 100th goal of his career.
