Tyson Jost was selected No. 10 overall by the Colorado Avalanche nearly two weeks ago at the 2016 NHL Draft in Buffalo, New York. Rated as the 16th-best North American skater in NHL Central Scouting's final rankings, the forward recently finished his second season with the British Columbia Hockey League's Penticton Vees, where he was team captain in 2015-16. The St. Albert, Alberta, native was named league MVP and was a BCHL First Team All-Star before earning the Canadian Junior Hockey League’s National Player of the Year and Top Forward awards.
The center also captained Team Canada at the IIHF Under-18 World Championship, where he was named "best forward" of the tournament after leading all players with 15 points (six goals and nine assists) in seven games.
