Former Nuggets front office executive Pete D'Alessandro is returning to Denver to become the team's senior vice president of business and team operations, leaving the Sacramento Kings after a messy front office shakeup that saw him stripped of decision-making power.
Team president Josh Kroenke also announced he was promoting Greg Sherman to the same role for the Avalanche.
"As KSE (Kroenke Sports Entertainment) has evolved as a company, my role and duties within the company have evolved as well," Kroenke said in a written statement. "Pete's addition to our operations team is a natural product of that evolution, and his experiences over his professional career have put him in a unique position to assist me in multiple areas ranging from league operations to team budgeting.
