DALLAS — Colorado coach Patrick Roy still was recovering from a case of apparent food poisoning as he stood behind the bench Thursday, when the Avalanche closed out its road season with a 4-2 loss to the Dallas Stars.
The defeat was the fifth in a row for Colorado (39-38-4), while the Stars remained tied with St. Louis for the Central Division title.
Jason Dickinson, Colton Sceviour and Jordie Benn scored to stake the Stars to a 3-0 lead before Colorado defenseman Francois Beauchemin's goal at 10:54 of the third ruined Kari Lehtonen's shutout.
