Ottawa Senators GM tells the Ottawa Sun the 2018 pick will remain with Ottawa

Tonight it was announced that the Ottawa Senators will pick fourth overall in the 2018 NHL Draft. The Senators fell to fourth after the Carolina Hurricanes jumped up to grab a spot in the top three. According to Ottawa Sun reporter Bruce Garrioch, Senators General Manager Pierre Dorion has said the Senators will keep the pick:

This means that the Colorado Avalanche will get the Senators first round pick in the 2019 draft, as the final piece of the Matt Duchene trade. It’s expected that the Senators pick will be a top 10 pick at minimum once again next season, potentially another top lottery pick if they do end up moving Erik Karlsson over the summer as rumours have suggested.
