DENVER — In what might go down as the Avalanche's worse loss of the young season, the similarly struggling Arizona Coyotes scored on odd-man rushes to begin the first and third periods. The very issue first-year coach Jared Bednar says must be eliminated was on display with rested players Tuesday night in a 4-2 loss at the Pepsi Center.
Bednar's new system is understandably a work in progress, but there is no excuse for the back-breaking goal that gave the visitors a 4-2 lead 11 seconds into the third period.
