OTTAWA — In this frigid Canadian capital city (frigid, as in about zero degrees farenheit), the Avalanche will attempt to snap out of its latest doldrums against the Ottawa Senators Thursday night.
After an 0-3-1 homestand, the Avalanche has a back-to-back road challenge against the Senators and then the Detroit Red Wings Friday night.
Semyon Varlamov will be in the Colorado net at the Canadian Tire Centre, while Calvin Pickard is penciled in for the game at Detroit.
Mainly because of the distance from downtown Ottawa to the arena, the Avalanche didn't have a morning skate and instead had meetings and aerobic work at the team hotel.
