Lakewood-raised goalie Nicole Hensley is the 5-foot-7 brick wall of American women's hockey. A likely 2018 U.S. Olympian, Hensley set the career saves record for the NCAA Division I women's game last winter before producing a perfect save percentage at the International Ice Hockey Federation World Championship last month.

Hensley, a senior at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo., backstopped the Americans' 8-0 victory over Russia on March 29 in Kamloops, British Columbia. Her 16 saves equalled a 1.000 save percentage.

The U.S. went on to capture the gold medal by beating Canada in a 1-0 overtime thriller April 4.
