Former Avalanche Patrick Roy is the greatest goalie of all time, but teammate Peter Forsberg is the most popular player, according to current NHL players.
In the NHL Players Association’s annual player poll released Wednesday, Roy received 39.3 percent of the votes to beat Martin Brodeur (33.2 percent) and Dominik Hasek (13.6 percent). In the favorite-player-growing-up category, Forsberg received 8.4 percent of the votes, edging out former Red Wings center Steve Yzerman (8.2 percent) and long-time Colorado captain Joe Sakic (7.4 percent).
More than 500 current NHL players took part in the poll, answering 20 different hockey-related questions.
