The Avalanche has six selections in next week’s seven-round NHL draft, including the 25th pick of the first round Tuesday.
The Avs, who have not picked above No. 23 in the seven-year tenure of general manager Joe Sakic, do not have a second-round pick. It was traded to San Jose in the three-team deal that brought forward Andre Burakovsky from Washington to Colorado last summer.
The Avs might trade to move up from No. 25. If they don’t, the following five 18-year-olds (two defensemen and three forwards) could be available:
Kaiden Guhle, D, Edmonton, Alberta.
