The Avalanche will introduce its 2016 first-round draft choice, University of North Dakota-bound center Tyson Jost, Monday afternoon in the team’s dressing room at the Pepsi Center.
I spoke with Jost and Joe Sakic on the phone Friday night after the first round ended, and that story is here.
One of the challenges in covering the NHL, and especially its draft, is: a) writing for the general sports fan who isn’t knowledgeable about the NHL’s feeders and its draft system; but: b) doing it without getting too remedial and redundant for those who know the difference between the levels involved with the Penticton Vees and the Prince George Cougars, and between the Sioux Falls Stampede and the Portland Winterhawks.
