Avalanche coach Jared Bednar met with second-line center Nazem Kadri before Game 4 of their series Monday against the Coyotes. Bednar didn’t mince words.
“I’ll be honest with you,” Bednar said. “I thought (Kadri) took a step backward for Game 2 and Game 3. I have a high standard set for him, and he does for himself, as well. We had a couple of conversations.”
Kadri not only listened. He agreed.
“I felt like I didn’t have my best game (going),” Kadri said.
Later that afternoon, from the Edmonton NHL bubble, the first-year Colorado forward followed strong words with stronger action.
