The Avalanche is once again bracing for potentially significant injury news.
Forward Nazem Kadri did not practice Friday and is being medically evaluated, coach Jared Bednar told reporters. His playing status is uncertain when Colorado (48-14-6) hosts Pittsburgh on Saturday night at Ball Arena.
“He’s getting evaluated today,” Bednar said Friday. “So, we’ll see about him for tomorrow.”
The injury likely happened Thursday night in the third period against San Jose. Kadri was leveled with a big hit in the corner by Sharks forward Tomas Hertl. Kadri got cross-checked in the back and slammed into San Jose forward Timo Meier.
