Nathan MacKinnon ties Peter Forsberg’s Avalanche playoff points streak

Nathan MacKinnon made hockey history Tuesday night that he would rather not discuss.

Not when the Avalanche wasted a Game 3 comeback effort inside Pepsi Center. Not when the Sharks took a 2-1 playoff series lead. And definitely not when asked to reflect moments after the defeat, eyes locked on the Colorado dressing room carpet, and blanketed by reporters.

MacKinnon fired a second-period rocket past San Jose goaltender Martin Jones and became Colorado’s first player to record a playoff point streak of at least seven games since franchise legend Peter Forsberg in 2004.

MacKinnon, with no hesitation, replied: “I don’t care.
