NHL playoffs scoring leader Nathan MacKinnon keeps rolling. The Avalanche’s star center had two points, including a game-clinching empty-net goal, in Game 6 on Wednesday to extend his playoff points streak to 14 games.
MacKinnon, who assisted on Mikko Rantanen’s goal early in the third period in Colorado’s 4-1 win to force Friday’s Game 7, has the NHL’s longest playoff point streak since 2006 when Carolina’s Eric Staal reeled off points in 15 straight.
MacKinnon is tied with Mark Messier in 1988 and Bobby Orr in 1970 with the second-longest to begin a postseason in NHL history.
