Not surprisingly, the Avalanche’s nine-game winning streak coincides with Nathan MacKinnon‘s nine-game points streak, the NHL’s longest active streak.
MacKinnon assisted on Colorado’s first goal Saturday and scored the second, the game-winner. It was his 18th multipoint game of the season — the most by an Avs player since Matt Duchene in 2013-14 — and seventh game-winning goal, tied for the league’s most.
MacKinnon also is on a five-game goal streak, the club’s longest since Gabe Landeskog in 2014-15, and he ranks first in the NHL in scoring on home ice with 46 points (18 goals).
